Smile again

I have recently read an article about The Depilex Smile again Foundation which inspired me to keep thinking and keep trying to look for creative approaches to solving problems.
It’s all about a Pakistani salon owner called Musarrat Misbah who discovered a new life mission. It all started when a women came to Musarrat’s salon with her face covered asking for help to look better. “When she removed her veil, I had to sit down!! There was no life in my legs” Musarrat recalls in a recent BBC interview. “In front of me was a woman with no face. Her eyes and nose were gone and her neck and face were stuck together so she couldn’t move them”
Musarrat found doctors to perform reconstructive surgery on the women and thus began her charity work for acid attack victims; she started a non-profit organization called Smile Again which has helped hundreds of acid attack survivors rebuild their lives.
With donations, she not only pays for their medical treatment but also trains them for the workplace. Some even work at her salon now. For more than a decade Musarrat Misbah’s beauty salon has been a refuge for women attacked by acid. This will give them a chance to start a better life.

Mussarat says that when she listen to their stories where the attackers are motivated by such small reasons, sometimes no reason at all, she thinks, “Is this the world we want to live in?!” For her part, Mussarat is trying to build the kind of world that she wants to live in by helping one woman at a time rebuild their life.
Giving these women hope after losing it is such a good mission to accomplish.
